The discovery of a market niche

The founders of BELEKTRONIG are two passionate developers with many years of research experience: Raimund Brünig and Glen Guhr. The two became acquainted while studying in the US in Plymouth Michigan and earned their PhDs a few years later at the Institute for Solid State and Material Research Dresden. During their intensive research, they shared an experience which was to become the starting point for BELEKTRONIG. For demanding temper control tasks there were simply no convincing integrated solutions in the market.

2007-2009: Development of the first prototype

Brünig and Guhr were constantly confronted with the same problems when controlling the temperature of samples: thermal fluctuations in the range of one tenth of a degree that overlayed the actual measurement signal, as well as cumbersome operation and low adaptability of standard industrial burners. Their dissatisfaction with the available equipment finally resulted in the development of a new temperature regulator, initially exclusively for their own research work.

2010: Founding of BelektroniG - Brünig & Guhr Elektronik GbR

Encouraged by positive feedback in the international research community, Brünig and Guhr worked continuously on the perfection of their temperature controllers. As the demand in laboratories for a corresponding product grew, the two developers dared to take the step into self-employment. In addition to entrepreneurial ambitions, there was a sense of justification: the results of their research should benefit other scientists as well, instead of disappearing into a drawer.

2010: A WHOLE CONTROLLER SERIES IS CREATED FROM THE FIRST LAB DEVICE

When BELEKTRONIG was founded, the product line consisted of just one product: the temperature controller HAT Control - B20 with two measuring points and an accuracy of 0.001 °C. By the end of 2010, the engineers who had now both recevied their PhDs had expanded the first product into a versatile controller series with a total of six configurations. Thereby responding to the feedback of the first customers regarding their individual accuracy and interface requirements. The users of the first hour gave the new product top marks for usability and adaptability.

2011: FIRST GENERATION OF BUILT-IN TEMPERATURE CONTROLLERS

Again and again, we were asked by companies in the scientific equipment industry if they could integrate our technology into their own measuring devices. In such products, the temperature control is often an extremely important component as temperature stability is a prerequisite for accurate measurement results. We responded to these demands with the development and delivery of the first built-in temperature controllers. The buyers of our built-in temperature controllers particularly appreciate their complete integrability and configurability.

2012: LAUNCH OF THE FIRST POWER SAW GENERATORS FOR ACOUSTOFLUIDICS

The impuls to develop the Power SAW generator also came from our scientific work: within the frame of the research project "Technology Platform for Acoustoelectronic Microfluidics", the operation of complex test setups for SAW actuators proved to be cumbersome and time-consuming. Initially designed exclusively for his own research, the power SAW generator, developed by Raimund Brünig, greatly accelerated the rate of scientific break throughs. The high-tech device is still the only one of its kind and is in demand by acoustofluidics researchers from all over the world.

2013: INAUGURATION OF THE CNC WORKPLACE FOR FASTER PROTOTYPING

As engineers, we know the essential importance of rapid prototyping. In order to better meet our customers' needs, we have expanded our workshop by a CNC workplace for milling aluminum and plastic. Modifications to housings or temperature controlled platforms can now be done quickly and easily. The final product series however are still manufactured by specialized professional CNC suppliers.

2014: THE NEW GENERATION OF BENCHTOP TEMPERATURE CONTROLLERS

Based on customer feedback, the function range of both the laboratory temperature controllers and the OEM components was significantly expanded. This led to the switch to a modular design, enabling us to shorten our delivery times and increase availability. More importantly, if the standard functionality is not sufficient, extensions and modifications can now be implemented more quickly.

2015: CHANGE OF LEGAL COMPANY STRUCTURE TO BELEKTRONIG GMBH

In the course of professionalisation and the increasingly international orientation of sales, the company changed its business form in 2015. BelektroniG - Brünig & Guhr Elektronik GbR was transformed into BelektroniG GmbH. For the company, the change of name also marked the transition from start-up to an established company: BELEKTRONIG had grown up, the products had proven themselves in practical use and established themselves on the market.

2017:  NEW APPEARENCE AND WEBSITE

Thanks to a brand relaunch including a new website, we now present our controllers and components with a new uniform appearance. The tidy, concise brand design gives BELEKTRONIG's overall appearance a clear outline: regarding products, measurment stands and company communications. In addition, the funtionality of the website was expanded to become the first point of contact in service questions.

2019: THE NEW GOLD STANDARD

Our slogan "advancing lab controllers" defines our ambition and direction for the coming years: We will continue to work on the perfection of our products and the accompanying services. As experts for highly accurate, multifunctional and absolutely reliable temperature and frequency control solutions, we define the gold standard in our sector: creating devices that set new standards, exactly match user requirements and thus give optimal support to the users.
